 CONTROL YOUR MIND BY THE SPIRIT AND STOP LIVING BY SIGHT (SENSES)
2COR 5: 17 THEREFORE IF ANY MAN BE IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATURE: OLD THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY; BEHOLD, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW.
2CO 5:7 (FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT)
Old things pass away before God but they don’t pass away in the mind because memories do not vanish when we accept Jesus Christ by faith. We were redeemed from sin so that a believer could constantly renew the mind by knowledge of Christ to live in the realty of the new live we have in Him and escape fleshy lusts.
EPH 4:23 AND BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND
(COL 3: 9-10) 9 LIE NOT ONE TO ANOTHER, SEEING THAT YE HAVE PUT OFF THE OLD MAN WITH HIS DEEDS;10 AND HAVE PUT ON THE NEW MAN, WHICH IS RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE AFTER THE IMAGE OF HIM THAT CREATED HIM:
 We need to redeem the mind from the memories of the past constantly.
 Even the memories of a good thing done to a brother in Christ could be an obstacle. I said this because some people keep offences because of one good deed to a brother in the past and refuse to forgive the brother because they believe that the brother owes them. The mind needs constant work!
So many believers are lazy when it comes to mind renewal. Salvation does not renew the mind. Salvation gives eternal life so that we could renew our mind through the knowledge of eternal life giver …Jesus Christ.
Why our spirits were quickened to life on conversion is for us to listen to the voice of the spirit and control what goes on in our mind to conform to the knowledge of Christ and become totally Christ in life both spiritually, mentally and physically .This is our identity.
Conversely many believers still leave their minds stale with guilt, condemnation and unforgiveness. Sin is dead but eternal life is not a stagnated lifestyle. It involves the renewal of mind so that our spirit could communicate the mind of God to our mind to live Godly lives .As we are in Christ our desire should be to know Him as our brother Paul rightly wrote
PHP 3:10 THAT I MAY KNOW HIM, AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION, AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS, BEING MADE CONFORMABLE UNTO HIS DEATH .
 The Knowledge of Christ is a mental quality that is accessed through revelation that comes from the recreated human spirit .When you feed you mind with the knowledge of Christ through revelations obviously you will have a sound mind. Hallelujah. The knowledge of Christ makes our minds sound not fleshy.
2TI 1:7 FOR GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND
A carnal believer lives mostly on the instructions from the senses into the mind. (OUTSIDE IN) But mature believer live mostly through the instruction from the spirit into the mind.(INSIDE OUT). It is a very interesting thing to be leave inside out because God man us His sons through Christ be lead by the spirit not our sense.
JOHN 1: 12 BUT AS MANY AS RECEIVED HIM, TO THEM GAVE HE POWER TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD, EVEN TO THEM THAT BELIEVE ON HIS NAME.
ROMAN 8:14 FOR AS MANY AS ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, THEY ARE THE SONS OF GOD.
The first verse is the entrance point. Accepting Christ, and receiving eternal life ( Jhn 1:12). The second verse is living the life. Being led by the Holy Spirit through our spirit o our minds. (Rom 8:14)  Eternal life is a gift but being led by the spirit is not a gift. It requires training and commitment to growth in the knowledge of Christ. We are in Christ to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. We receive instruction from the Holy Spirit through to our spirits, then our spirits control our mind and our minds our actions. The Holy Spirit may be speaking to your spirit but if your mind is not renewed by the knowledge of Christ, it cannot hear because many other voices are speaking in your mind.
Any believer who cannot train the mind to receive from his Sprit will remain carnal because his choices would sense driven. If this continues, the believer becomes carnally minded and become dead in world of senses having the mind of the flesh…. The flesh has filled his mind.
ROM 8:13 FOR IF YE LIVE AFTER THE FLESH, YE SHALL DIE: BUT IF YE THROUGH THE SPIRIT DO MORTIFY THE DEEDS OF THE BODY, YE SHALL LIVE
ROM 8:6 FOR TO BE CARNALLY MINDED IS DEATH; BUT TO BE SPIRITUALLY MINDED IS LIFE AND PEACE
Our spirits reminds the flesh that it has been crucified through our minds.

This is how to mortify the flesh. It means put to death, kill or mortify the flesh because we have crucified it on the cross. Our mind should live above feelings, sight, tastes and sounds and stand in faith by the knowledge of Christ.
COL3:5 ¶ MORTIFY THEREFORE YOUR MEMBERS WHICH ARE UPON THE EARTH; FORNICATION, UNCLEANNESS, INORDINATE AFFECTION, EVIL CONCUPISCENCE, AND COVETOUSNESS, WHICH IS IDOLATRY:
EPH 3: 3 ¶ BUT FORNICATION, AND ALL UNCLEANNESS, OR COVETOUSNESS, LET IT NOT BE ONCE NAMED AMONG YOU, AS BECOMETH SAINTS.
(EPH 4: 19-20 ) 19 WHO BEING PAST FEELING HAVE GIVEN THEMSELVES OVER UNTO LASCIVIOUSNESS, TO WORK ALL UNCLEANNESS WITH GREEDINESS 20 BUT YE HAVE NOT SO LEARNED CHRIST;
All these are products of the mind. Any mind that is controlled by the word of God cannot do all these.
1PE 1:13 ¶ WHEREFORE GIRD UP THE LOINS OF YOUR MIND, BE SOBER, AND HOPE TO THE END FOR THE GRACE THAT IS TO BE BROUGHT UNTO YOU AT THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST.
We have to learn Christ.
 (EPH 4: 20-23) 21 BUT YE HAVE NOT SO LEARNED CHRIST;  21 IF SO BE THAT YE HAVE HEARD HIM, AND HAVE BEEN TAUGHT BY HIM, AS THE TRUTH IS IN JESUS: 22 THAT YE PUT OFF CONCERNING THE FORMER CONVERSATION THE OLD MAN, WHICH IS CORRUPT ACCORDING TO THE DECEITFUL LUSTS; 23 AND BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND;
COL 2:18 LET NO MAN BEGUILE YOU OF YOUR REWARD IN A VOLUNTARY HUMILITY AND WORSHIPPING OF ANGELS, INTRUDING INTO THOSE THINGS WHICH HE HATH NOT SEEN, VAINLY PUFFED UP BY HIS FLESHLY MIND
  GAL 5: 24 AND THEY THAT ARE CHRIST'S HAVE CRUCIFIED THE FLESH WITH THE AFFECTIONS AND LUSTS    
An unbeliever is controlled by his senses because he is spiritually dead in unbelief.
 COL 1:21 AND YOU, THAT WERE SOMETIME ALIENATED AND ENEMIES IN YOUR MIND BY WICKED WORKS, YET NOW HATH HE RECONCILED
TIT 1:15 UNTO THE PURE ALL THINGS ARE PURE: BUT UNTO THEM THAT ARE DEFILED AND UNBELIEVING IS NOTHING PURE; BUT EVEN THEIR MIND AND CONSCIENCE IS DEFILED.
EPH 2:3 AMONG WHOM ALSO WE ALL HAD OUR CONVERSATION IN TIMES PAST IN THE LUSTS OF OUR FLESH, FULFILLING THE DESIRES OF THE FLESH AND OF THE MIND; AND WERE BY NATURE THE CHILDREN OF WRATH, EVEN AS OTHERS
Any mind outside Christ has no control because the mind can only be controlled by the spirit through the knowledge of Christ.This is why need Christ in our lives. This is another opportunity to receive Him by faith. More grace.

GOD IS THE FATHER OF SPIRITS MAN IS THE FATHER OF FLESH Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather BE IN SUBJECTION UNTO THE FATHER OF SPIRITS, AND LIVE? In the Old Testament, God was not known as a father. He was only a circumstantial God with diverse names based on the situation he created to reveal Himself to a particular person at a particular time. Consequently, many have seen God manifest in their lives in a particular situation at a particular time that made them give   God names according to the situation H created for the revelation. ON THE CROSS On the cross both sin and man died but Christ did not die. He was made sin for the body of sin to die in man and not in God. As God He cannot die, But as man He took on the body of sin on the cross for sin to die through his death. Roman 6: 6 knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed,( NOT THE BODY OF CHRIST ) that henceforth we should not serve sin.( 2Cor 5: 21) FOR HE HATH MADE HIM TO BE SIN FOR US, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him  On the cross man died with Christ for sins that man would be dead to sin and free from sin.
