ON THE CROSS
On the cross both sin and man died but Christ did not die. He was made sin for the body of sin to die in man and not in God. As God He cannot die, But as man He took on the body of sin on the cross for sin to die through his death. Roman 6: 6 knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed,( NOT THE BODY OF CHRIST ) that henceforth we should not serve sin.( 2Cor 5: 21) FOR HE HATH MADE HIM TO BE SIN FOR US, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him
On the cross man died with Christ for sins that man would be dead to sin and free from sin. Ro 6:8 Now IF WE BE DEAD WITH CHRIST, we believe that we shall also live with him: 2Tim2: 11 It is a faithful saying: FOR IF WE BE DEAD WITH HIM, we shall also live with him: Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin
Because man died with Christ man became dead to sin. Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Rom 6:11 LIKEWISE RECKON YE ALSO YOURSELVES TO BE DEAD INDEED UNTO SIN, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ro 8:10 ¶ And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness
On the other hand sin died on the cross when Christ took the body of sin and died as sin .Rom 8:.3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: {for sin: or, by a sacrifice for sin. .( 2Cor 5: 21) FOR HE HATH MADE HIM TO BE SIN FOR US, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
We could see that the death of the body of sin on the cross made man to die with him and for sin to die .But there is on big difference between the death of man with the body of sin and the death of sin. The difference is that when Christ rose through the justified body, man rose with Him unto justification of life.( Rom 5: 18) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. So that there will be no condemnation for those who are in Him because God condemned sin in the flesh when Christ was made sin. It is very interesting to note that sin did not rise again. Christ did not give life back to sin. Rom 8:10 ¶ And if Christ be in you, THE BODY IS DEAD BECAUSE OF SIN; BUT THE SPIRIT IS LIFE BECAUSE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, IN PUTTING OFF THE BODY OF THE SINS OF THE FLESH BY THE CIRCUMCISION OF CHRIST:
Man did not only rise with Christ from the grave, Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins hath quickened us together with Christ. Those who have received eternal life are made to sit with Him in heavenly places in Him. 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
We are dead to sin because we died with him for sins. Sin is dead because he died as sin. We should not limit our revelation to being dead to sin only. Sin is also died on the cross. We should step up our revelation. Christ did not give life back to sin after resurrection. I have never read any place in the bible that says so. Nobody can give sin life again not even the enemies of the cross. Saying that sin is alive is an ignorant establishment of another righteousness apart from the righteousness that come through faith in the resurrected Christ because of the death of sin. 2 Cor 5: 21.
WE DIED WITH HIM BURIED WITH HIM AND ROSE WITH HIM. HE WAS MADE SIN AND DIED AS SIN BUT HE DID NOT RISE AS SIN BUT AS CHRIST. NOW WE ARE IN CHRIST.SIN IS DEAD. PRAISE GOD.
More grace.
